Zinc Plating Processes We Offer

Different applications require different zinc plating processes. We design lines for all major zinc plating types.

Alkaline

Alkaline Non-Cyanide Zinc Plating

Environmentally friendly process with excellent throwing power. Produces bright, ductile deposits. Widely used for automotive fasteners and hardware where superior corrosion resistance is required.

Best for: automotive, fasteners, general hardware

Acid

Acid Chloride Zinc Plating

High-efficiency process with fast deposition rates and superior brightness. Excellent for complex-shaped parts. Produces a mirror-bright finish ideal for decorative applications.

Best for: decorative hardware, complex shapes

Alloy

Zinc-Nickel Alloy Plating

Advanced alloy plating with 10-15% nickel content. Offers 5-10x better corrosion resistance than conventional zinc. Growing rapidly in EV and automotive brake applications.

Best for: EV components, brake parts, high-corrosion environments

Post-Treatment

Passivation & Sealing

Complete range of post-treatments: blue/white/color/black passivation, trivalent chrome passivation, and organic/inorganic sealers. Meets automotive OEM specifications.

Available: trivalent Cr, Cr(VI)-free, automotive specs

Zinc Plating Equipment Essentials

Key equipment components for a reliable zinc plating line

Anodes

Zinc Anodes

High-purity zinc anodes (or titanium baskets with zinc balls) replenish zinc ions. Anode-to-cathode ratio 1:1 to 2:1. For acid chloride baths, control anode current density below 25 A/ft² to avoid excessive dissolution.

Rectifier

Rectifier

DC rectifier, typically 12V, 500-5000A depending on load. High-frequency switching rectifier with low ripple for consistent deposit. Voltage requirements: rack 1-8V, barrel 6-18V.

Filtration

Continuous Filtration

Continuous filtration is MANDATORY for acid chloride zinc baths to prevent roughness and pitting. Alkaline baths also benefit from periodic filtration. Use corrosion-resistant pumps and 5-20 μm cartridges.

Post-Treatment

Passivation & Drying

In-line passivation tanks (blue/white/color/black) and sealing tanks for corrosion protection. Centrifugal dryers or hot-air ovens complete the process. Trivalent passivation recommended for RoHS/ELV compliance.
